First of all, I would like to thank you for the book recommendations and advice you gave to me last year!
I decided to start an in-person course, here in Rio de Janeiro, to prepare myself for the PMP
and last week I did my test and passed the PMP test! I’m so happy!!
Thank you very much for you support! Your classes at NYU definitely helped me a lot and opened new horizons for me in relation to Project Management!
I’m an architect, and now I’m looking forward to work with Project Management!
Thank you for everything! You were an amazing professor!
Best from Rio!

Thank you for an engaging class. It was my plan to take your prep class and I waited until this April session and I am glad I did.
With jetlag and all, up since 2am yesterday – I was able to stay engaged until 5pm. I am so glad for Jennifer, Dana and Sabrena recommendations and positive feedback – word of mouth definitely travels.
Although, I first met you at Susan Cho’s Speed Mentoring Session (at NYU/PMINYC) and you left a really positive and good impression at that time. The group met for 5 or so minutes, short but you were able to share as much information and show how helpful you were then.
Thank you again – your passion to grow PM professionals is apparent in the work that you do.
— Claire I
Many thanks for leading the class in critical path theory and practice. I found the class really useful and it clarified a number of my questions that I had prior to taking it.
As always, your attention to detail and generosity in sharing so much helpful information in the form of shortcuts, templates and resources is sincerely appreciated.
— Paul M
Hi Professor Furman,Thank you very much for your email. I greatly appreciate the time and care that you dedicate to your students and our success in project management. Thank you for furthering my learning with a detailed explanation of homework question number 7. I look forward to seeing you on April 1 as well.Best,Meaghan
Hello Professor Jeff,
I had a wonderful time being in your class last Saturday learning this very useful section (EVM) of Project Management. I am learning more and more every time I practice these formulas and your fence example comes in extremely handy. Also, I really appreciate you sharing the tools and reference materials for PMP exam prep.
Thank you and have a good weekend!
Warm regards, Sadia

Thanks for the help, your class and your book pulled me through.
Thank you, Regards, Edward.
Dear Jeff,I passed today!! 🙂 I’m so thankful to you especially for your example, teaching, dedication, and encouragement. I’m also grateful to everyone in the two study sessions, and my classmates during the Saturday morning course last Spring.Warm regards & happy new year.Best,Leizel
Happy New Year! I hope 2017 is your best year yet!
I actually think of our time in class, and everyone that participated. Your course (Persuasive Presentations For Project Managers) is one of the best I’ve taken. I had to present a number of times and I found that the lessons we learned at NYU were crucial to my success in presenting. On my last presentation at my current job I gave an IT Update to an auditorium full of faculty and staff, and for the next few days I kept getting compliments on how well I did. What you taught us had an impact!
— Carlos O, MBA, PMP January 9, 2017
Your answer book is the best book I’ve found that explains Cost.
(and everything else!)
— Dale C
Thank you, Jeff Furman. It was an honor to meet you and receive your instruction for that brief period of time (PMP Prep Class, US Army, Fort Hood)I always appreciate the highly valuable information I read in your posts (and books!)Thank you for the excellent instruction and for everything you do for the Soldiers.
It all worked out and I passed the exam on the first attempt today.
Thanks again for the great class and everything that came with it.
Feedback about the exam and study prep:
– Your class in combination with studying most of my freetime afterwards did not just make it possible to pass the exam but primarily gave me knowledge for work and life.
– The simulation software from Cornelius Fichtner was a great tool which I used the last 3 weeks to get ready – great recommendation! It helped me to get used to sitting 4 hrs answering 200 questions in a row without a stop button, and to get very familiar with how the questions are asked. Further it enhanced my knowledge base. The way the questions are designed in that simulation software is similar to the real exam, even though I had the feeling today that the actual exam had slightly tougher questions. Reason being the 4 possible answers frequently seemed to be much closer to each other – which means it takes an extra thought to pick the right one.
Have a good one!
— Robert E, PMP
I passed the PMP yesterday! I can’t believe it, as I thought it was indeed pretty tough, and wasn’t sure how things were going to go!
It was your book (and classes), Andy Crowe and Cornelius Fichtner’s PMP simulator that primarily contributed to my success.
Thanks for everything and now on to satisfying the PDUs!
Well…I passed the PMP exam yesterday morning.
Thank you for all your help and guidance.
Thanks again for that great study session on Nov.16. It really helped me a lot.
Just passed my PMP!
Hi Jeff,I passed the PMP test today 🙂Thanks for the awesome class and all of the great pointers. It really was a huge help with passing.Thanks.
Hi Jeff,Thank you very much and I appreciate the class, the interaction and the extra time you invested after last week’s class. With your way of instructing it connected the dots and made things understandable. The space between the class allowed for reading and preparing for the next day of class, which I think is the best way of having a class schedule setup. Those 5-days-in-a-row training classes can’t transfer as much knowledge as with having a week time in between to process the information <like your class>Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.
Dear Professor Furman,
In this holiday season, I wish to express to you my sincere appreciation for your great help in the past year.
May the holiday spirit be with your family today and throughout the New Year.
— Bohong C
I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your time these past few Saturdays. You really are a great instructor. As hard as it was to come in on some beautiful Fall Saturday afternoons, your enthusiasm made the time go by quickly. In practice, project management has many unexpected turns and twists, however in the classroom, it could potentially have been a very dry subject, but you made it exciting with your real life experiences and passion.I hope our paths will cross again.Best.
I wanted to let you know that I took the PMP exam yesterday, and I passed! It took me a while to get signed up for the exam since I took your class in April-May because my application was audited. I wanted to let you know that your book and homework assignments were great study resources. I used your book both when I was preparing for the CAPM a few years ago and <again now> for the PMP.
Now that I’m done studying, I’m hoping to have some more time to attend PMI and agile events in the NYC area. I hope to run into you at some of those.
Thanks again for all of your help!
Hi Jeff,I hope all is well.I just wanted to share my good news, I passed the PMP exam today. Thank you so much for all of your help. The class and the books really helped me pass the exam.Take careTinisha

Prof. Furman is engaging, master of the material, an excellent communicator. Absolutely loved how hands-on and practical this class was with the everyday life scenarios the Professor tied into the lectures and assignments. Hey Jeff, Did I happen to mention I passed? 🙂 Love the two books you leverage in class (PMP Prep, NYU), yours and Andy Crowe’s.
What I did find (about the test is that one must know the content YOU teach; the materials you teach with and offer to students were the best study materials hands down. e class was right on point. And I learned a lot and will be a better employee 🙂 or boss or PM 🙂

You are a great teacher. I wish I had taken your course a long time ago.
I’m convinced I would have earned my PMP stripes long ago.
— Jose B., PMP Prep Class, NYU
Hi Jeff, I took a class with you at Fort Campbell (US Army) in 2012. I ended up getting my CAPM on the last day of your class and after finishing my undergraduate I had to study for the new version of the PMP which I was successful in achieving in 2014. Your Answer Book (The Project Management Answer Book) was instrumental with me studying and achieving it on my first try. I hope you are doing well and congrats on your new book.
— Chase S, PMP, ITILv3, Linkedin (after PMP Prep course for US Army)
I also want to say how refreshing it was to to discuss controversial topics, especially as it relates to police brutality or minority treatment. There have been few times during courses I’ve taken in the past, where I didn’t feel a sense of ‘otherness,’ this was one of the few. So thank you for creating a safe and inclusive space to discuss today’s racial climate as it relates to ethics. I give your awareness of social/racial issues an A++. Keep up the amazing work!!!

If I explore other courses through NYU, I will look for your name to use as a deciding factor!
Thank you again.

You are a stellar person. On your write-up for NYU (course eval) I basically said ‘their course is YOU.’ That they can not do anything to improve cause you are the PMP Prep Test Master and that the material can not be covered or taught or explained more thoroughly.

He is a consummate professional in his field and used current events, his real world experiences as well as his student’s experiences to teach his curriculum in a way that made learning both enjoyable and retainable!
I was a student in Jeff’s NYU SPS Persuasive Presentations for Project Managers class as well as his Ethics in Project Management class in the summer of 2015 and truly valued the high-quality level of expertise he brought to the subject matter and the sense of duty he exhibited when helping his students. Jeff, I passed my test this morning, due in no small part to your class. Thanks for all your help!
Hi Jeff, Thank you for having me in your (Persuasive Presentations For PMs) class. It was an absolute pleasure. I was also observing how you give your students suggestions and it was done so kindly and in a way where people listen and change. I learned a lot.
I look forward to staying connected with you. Im going to look into your summer (PMP) class which would be great.
I did not get the pleasure to meet you, or be taught in your class here at Fort Bliss, but I did want to say Thank You for all your assistance. Thank you for your service to the Armed Services.

Hi! Thanks so much for your support! I think I needed the confidence and knowledge boost your class gave me to get through that exam. I finished at 2 hours and 45 minutes… even better than my last half marathon I ran! lol
… I have been on cloud nine all week about passing. Everyone at work has been making me feel like a rock-star. I’ve been getting high fives, hugs, and congratulations. I walked outside and someone yelled “PMP” at me, and another worker started clapping and cheering.
Jeff, I wanted to let you know that I just passed my PMP!!
I also want to thank you for all your help! Your class was very informative and really gave me the extra push I needed to focus my study and prepare for this exam. It was not an easy test, but, without your class I don’t think I would have passed.
I hope things are going well for you in NY, and also hope that our paths cross again some day.
My best to you and yours,
Just wanted to let you know that I passed my PMP test yesterday. Thanks again for coming out to Ft. Gordon and giving us such a great class. I know it helped me greatly.

“Professor Furman is very experienced and a great educator. I would love for him to teach more PM courses. He is respectful of his students, and his students return the respect.”
— Collected comments from the students in my Ethics In PM class, NYU, Summer Semester 2013
Jeff was my professor for the continuing education course “Ethics in Project Management” at NYU. He inspired me with his breadth of knowledge in Ethics and career experience and his ability to bring the textbook material to life. He is the kind of teacher who can think on his feet and teach a whole class around a recent Ethics article, and he was always willing to spend time after class discussing our careers or professional aspirations. I got much more out of this course than I had hoped, and saw my creativity and insights at work grow.

Hi Jeff, I want to thank you for a memorable journey in my life’s career. My colleague and I (classmate in Presentation Skills class, March, 2013) passed pass our written exams and hopefully will pass our videos. Thanks for the support and motivation.

Jeff can’t take the PMP exam for you, but he will equip you with all the tools necessary to pass with flying colors the first time including PMI best practices and test strategies. Jeff went above and beyond the requirements for the class by providing tactical templates that you can adapt for your organization as well as guidance on how to fill out the PMI application. I would recommend Jeff’s class and book to anyone trying to balance work and passing a notoriously tricky exam on the first try.

Jeff is extremely passionate about Project Management, education and ensuring his students can and will be the best they can be. His down-to- earth and friendly demeanor make Jeff an extremely approachable instructor who is open to and is stimulated by great discussion and debate! It was a few weeks since I had finished my PMP Prep course with Jeff, until my exam date, and I was more than thrilled that Jeff was available at any time during those few weeks to support, assist and coach me on how to study effectively for the exam. I truly admire Jeff’s style and enthusiasm and highly recommend anyone who needs a prep course to reach out to Jeff. You too will only benefit from his generosity and talent!

Jeff Furman – A person who inspired me to break down further into the area of Project Management. I was a student of Jeff’s at Netcom in his PMP class. I must say that he is an exceptional speaker, very easy when it comes to explanation on hard matters. I learned a lot from him as my teacher and also as a person. I am very thankful to him for that –because of him and a few others like him I am able to stand where I stand right now. Thank you so much Jeff, Ashish P., CAPM.

I attended the PMP preparation class that Jeff instructed and found it to be informative and educational. While these types of prep courses tend to be dull – Jeff kept the class lively, interesting and plied us with clever retention tools that made it easy to retain information for the exam (which I passed 1 week later). Jeff also manages to stay in touch with his students and continues to be a valuable resource and ally for me. July 13, 2009

Jeff was my professor for the CompTIA CTT+ course. Jeff is an excellent educator who changed the way I thought about public speaking and teaching others. Within the short timeframe of three days, he helped me eliminate my weaknesses and completely change my mindset with regards to public speaking and organized education. Thanks again for your help Jeff. Hopefully one day I will be a student in another of your courses (perhaps PMP?).

Jeff Furman is a natural-born educator. His explanations are clear and well delivered, and his comments and criticisms during one-on-one coaching are spot on and well received. His course (Presentation Skills toward the CTT+/MCT) is the best I’ve ever had, in value per dollar, positive classroom experience, and the quality of the content.

I have the pleasure to make this recommendation for Jeff Furman. Although, I had know Jeff for a very short time, he was willing to reach out to our PMI group to lecture on “Cost Management” based on PMBOK. Jeff demonstrated great interest and care for what he was going to present both before and after his session. He had follow-through with answers about the overall PMI project management methodology and demonstrated that he understands and can deliver any area within the project management discipline. Thanks Jeff.

Jeff takes his profession very seriously – while maintaining a personable attitude. He is an engaging communicator and solicits participation from all the people in the room. He has a wealth of real-life project management experience that he uses to illustrate key elements of the training program. He stayed at least one hour every evening to work extra with those who had missed a portion of the class during the day. After attending his class, I only spent an additional 10 hours at home and then passed the PMP exam on my first attempt. His teaching techniques gave me a tremendous amount of value – both in terms of knowledge and saved time.

Jeff taught our PMP class. He genuinely cared about each and everyone of us. As a teacher, he never tired of answering our questions over and over until we were satisfied with the answer. He freely gave of his time to help us; coming in early, working through lunch and staying late to give us one-on-one extra help. Even after the course finshed, he was available to us via email. I would definitely want Jeff to be my teacher in any further management classes I might take, and I look forward to reading his informative articles on project management. His teaching awards were certainly well deserved.
